We begin our story…

Nazi Zombies first came about from the end of Call of Duty: World at War. The mission “Nacht Der Untoten” featured 4 characters which weren’t named yet. They are trying to discover the mysteries of Group 935 and Element 115. The first Element 115 weapon was the Ray Gun which was found in a mysterious box in the map. Tank Dempsey was one of the people playable throughout the (main) Nazi Zombies story. The reason it says “main” in brackets is because there is actually a main story and a separate story.

The Main Story & The Separate Story

The Main Story includes the following maps and characters…

CoD: WaW - Nacht Der Untoten (the characters do not make an appearance)
CoD: WaW - Zombie Verruckt (the characters do not make an appearance)
CoD: WaW - Shi No Numa
CoD: WaW - Der Riese
CoD: Black Ops – Kino Der Toten
CoD: Black Ops – Ascension

-  Tank Dempsey
- Nikolai Belinski
- Takeo Masaki
- Edward Richtofen

The separate story includes the following maps and characters…

CoD: Black Ops – “Five”

- John F. Kennedy
- Robert McNamara
- Fidel Castro
- Richard Nixon

Nacht Der Untoten – REVISITED

There are many clues to the aims of Group 935 in Nacht Der Untoten. Some of them are listed below.

1 – On the wall near the mystery box it says “You Must Ascend From Darkness”. This is a reference to Ascension – the first zombie map released for DLC on Call of Duty: Black Ops due to the fact of Ascension relating to the word “Ascend” and also the fact of “Darkness” which refers to when you start Ascension, you start in Black and White and you have to find the power to “Ascend From Darkness”. This suggests that Treyarch & Activision has continued with the storyline.

2 – As with most Nazi Zombie maps, if a zombie hits you it sounds like they’re saying “Sam!”. Referring to Samantha Maxis.

3 – The song for the “Game Over” screen is called “Lullaby for a Dead Man”

You drove them into the heart of the Reich. You thought they were dead. You were wrong.

==================================

Nacht Der Untoten suggests this is not where the Zombie outbreak started. And it probably wasn’t. Was it “Der Riese” or was it “Ascension”? Read on to find out.

Zombie Verruckt

No clues as to Group 935 is here, but it features the Asylum as shown in the Single-Player Campaign.

Shi No Numa

The unknown soldiers in Nacht Der Untoten and Zombie Verruckt has now been revealed as…
-  Tank Dempsey
- Nikolai Belinski
- Takeo Masaki
- Edward Richtofen

In Shi No Numa, you are basically in a swamp. This is the first zombie map which doesn’t require power to be turned on to use Perks-O-Cola Machines or Electroshock Defences.
